Bacon

When it comes to taking my sons picture I go back and forth between capturing every tiny detail and forgetting the camera in the car. Last weekend Gabriel visited the booming metropolis of Raeville, NE. While we were there he got to meet even more of the Currie gang. We enjoyed getting to see all of our family but it was especially fun to catch up with Andrew and Megan and their little girl Olivia. She is almost exactly 1 year older than Gabriel and the 2 of them had a lot of fun together sharing toys and even some hair accessories thanks to Cousin Dan.
We stayed in an old rectory and were only there for a short while but it was great to reconnect with family from all over. For one of the meals we went to Valentino's for their buffet. Gabriel was a little fussy so Jon and I were passing him back and forth while we ate. While Jon was holding our little man I looked over just in time to see him snatch a piece of bacon off of Jon's plate and almost shove it into his mouth. It was quite an interception I might add. Gabriel had the biggest smile on his face at what he almost got away with. Let there not be any doubt. This child is completely his fathers son. He had a few proud grandfathers too when they heard the story. Of course... camera was left in the car!
We got to celebrate Jon's first Fathers Day and my Dad's first Grand Fathers Day. It was such a fun weekend and a great time to celebrate family and our fathers. Jon and I have been so blessed by our dads and their examples to us as well as our grandfathers. We are so thankful for all of you!

Daddy

Daddy,
You are the best daddy ever. I love how you play with me and think that everything I do is funny and cool. You have really strong arms to hold me and I feel really safe when you are around. You take me on lots of adventures. I like that. I like it when you call me Buddy too. I hear you tell Mommy all the things we are going to do together when I am bigger. Daddy, can I be bigger yet? I want to do those fun things now! Do I have to wait?
I love you lots Daddy.

Crying for carrots

Grandma Jensen

Dear Grandma - I love you lots. I like your face. It is fun to kiss and squish with my face. You give very good hugs and sing special songs to me. I like that. You get really excited about putting clean things on me, even diapers. Mommy says that you are going to eat carrots with me today. I liked them. Do you like carrots? Happy Birthday Grandma. I love you lots. I hope you like your birthday carrots.

Mom - you are a huge encouragement to me and I cannot tell you how thankful I am for you (and Dad too)! Looking back now I realize just how much you did for us growing up, and how much you are still doing for us now. I have so much fun with you and I am so proud to be your daughter. Love you!
